Motherhood, Mayhem & Finding Myself Again

If you saw my Mother’s Day reel this year, you probably already know my current thoughts on May:

“Mother’s Day being in the busiest month of the year is actually the most motherhood thing I’ve ever heard.” 😂

And honestly? I stand by that.

May somehow became a whirlwind of work travel, birthdays, schedules, events, deadlines, and trying to soak in every little moment all at the same time. My birthday landed the day after Mother’s Day, and shortly after that I was off on another work trip for my full-time corporate career.

It was one of those months that leaves you sitting there thinking:

How is life moving this fast already?

🌱 Motherhood Changed Everything

If I’m being completely honest… there was a time in my life when I never thought I wanted kids.

And now?
My son is my entire world.

He’s the reason behind this brand, the reason my priorities shifted, and honestly the reason I started wanting something more out of life beyond just career success.

I’ve always had the drive. The competitiveness. The relationship-building mindset. I genuinely love my corporate career and still do — working in the animal health industry makes complete sense for me after growing up around horses and livestock.

But after becoming a mom, something changed.

I suddenly had this deeper pull toward creating something of my own. Something meaningful. Something rooted in family and the life I wanted to build for my child.

And that’s exactly where Little Sprouts Outfitters was born.

🤎 The Real Reason Behind Little Sprouts

If you know me, you know I love to shop. Like… massive closet level love to shop. Don’t judge. 😂

I had always dreamed of owning some type of boutique, but once I became a mom, the vision shifted toward children’s clothing.

And honestly? I struggled so much finding cute boy clothes.

Nothing against dinosaur moms… but that just wasn’t my vibe. I kept searching for pieces that reflected the ranch, western, and farm lifestyle we actually lived — but so much of what I found felt overly cartoonish, poor quality, or just not thoughtfully designed.

That’s when I realized there was a gap.

I didn’t want to buy or sell anything I wouldn’t personally put my own son in.

That became the foundation of Little Sprouts Outfitters.

🌾 Why Quality Matters So Much to Me

Behind the scenes, I spend countless hours searching for brands and wholesalers that align with the vision I have for Little Sprouts.

I intentionally seek out other mama-owned businesses that prioritize:

  • quality materials
  • thoughtful production
  • comfort
  • durability
  • timeless style

Bamboo and 100% cotton pieces will always be at the top of my list because they hold up to real life while still feeling soft and comfortable for littles.

I want these pieces to survive:

  • sandbox days
  • bike rides
  • church on Sunday
  • family photos
  • everyday errands
  • hand-me-down years later

Because kids deserve clothing that feels both practical and special.

🌱 Finding Myself Again in Motherhood

Lately, I’ve realized motherhood also means learning how to take care of yourself again too.

I’m still figuring out who I want to be as a mom while balancing work, life, relationships, goals, and everything in between.

This summer, I’m making a conscious effort to focus on:

  • outdoor walks
  • drinking enough water
  • listening to funny or motivational podcasts
  • organizing my work priorities better
  • creating healthier balance
  • being fully present

Because I want the energy to do the things that matter most:
bike rides, sandbox building, park days, and teaching my son about farm equipment safety as he grows.

Those are the moments I never want to miss.

🤎 A Reminder for Every Mama Reading This

Motherhood looks different for everyone.

Some moms are juggling multiple kids and sports schedules. Some are balancing work and school pickups. Some are navigating single parenthood. Some are simply trying to make it through the day.

Just know:
you are not alone.

And please — let go of the constant comparison online.

Social media rarely shows the hard parts. The messy house. The exhaustion. The moments of self-doubt.

Take the walk. Drink the water. Read the book for 10 minutes. Put the phone down sometimes and just be present.

Your kids are watching you. Learning from you. Growing because of you.

Don’t miss these moments trying to create a perfect version of motherhood that doesn’t actually exist.

You’re building a life for your child.

And you’re doing an amazing job, Mama. 🤎
